The Bachelor of Science in Child Development is the final step on the CDEV career ladder. Students plan, implement, and assess developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children. They use a strong understanding of child development to promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive learning and growth.

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Child Development is a 2+2 degree to enable graduates of Associate in Applied Science degree in Child Development and related fields to complete a bachelor's degree. Students plan, implement, and assess developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young cvhildren. They use a strong understanding of child development to promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive learning and growth.
Students who have completed the AAS in Child Development program may apply for admission to the BAS in Child Development proram. Application forms are available in the Education Division Office.
Students interested in working in a public school as preschool teachers should pursue the Elementary Education degree with an Early Education Pre K-K Endorsement.

Student must apply for full admission to program. Application forms are available in the office of the Education Division.
Graduation Requirements:
Monitor program progress through My Degree to remain on graduation pathway.
Student must hold at least a 2.0 grade point average (GPA).
Complete all program (CDEV and EDUC) coursework with a C or better.
A file for each Child Development student will be maintained in the Education Office with all required documentation. When items are missing or need to be updated, the student must submit them by a date designated in a letter to the student in accordance with the Admission Policy. Failure to resolve issues by the deadline will result in removal from the program.

Complete at least 30 credit hours at WVU Parkersburg.
