The Certificate of Applied Science in Child Development builds early childhood professional knowledge, skills, and abilities so graduates can prepare, facilitate, and assess learning environments that are engaging and playful to promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

CAREER LADDER: CDEV is designed asa career ladder withmultiple entry andexit points. Students canearn a Certificate of AppliedScience in Child Development.To add a Paraprofessional CertificatePre K-12, add two additional classesto your certificate — COMM 111 andEDUC 108. In just one more year, youcan earn an Associate of AppliedScience in Child Development withoutlosing credits. In two years of studybeyond the associates degree, youcan earn a Bachelor of AppliedScience in Child Development without losing credits.

Students should average 15 credit hours per semester, or 30 per year, to graduate on time.
