The Certificate of Applied Science in Child Development builds early childhood professional knowledge, skills, and abilities so graduates can prepare, facilitate, and assess learning environments that are engaging and playful to promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

CAREER LADDER: CDEV is designed as a career ladder with multiple entry and exit points. Students can earn a Certificate of Applied Science in Child Development. In just one more year, you can earn an Associate of Applied Science in Child Development without losing credits. In two years of study beyond the associates degree, you can earn a Bachelor of Applied Science in Child Development without losing credits.

Students should average 15 credit hours per semester, or 30 per year, to graduate on time.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
A grade of "C" or better required in program courses (CDEV & EDUC) with an overall GPA of 2.0.
